Abrdn appoints CFO
Abrdn has appointed Jason Windsor as CFO and executive director, with effect from October 2023 and subject to regulatory approval.
Windsor joins the firm after 12 years at Aviva, where he was most recently CFO for the group. He came to Aviva in 2010 as chief strategy and planning officer after working for 15 years as managing director at Morgan Stanley.
Abrdn’s chair, Sir Douglas Flint CBE, highlighted Windsor’s “detailed knowledge and experience” and how together with “his border financial markets experience” it will complement the existing board capabilities.
The group’s CEO, Stephen Bird, added: “He is a clear thinker who knows our markets and has first-hand knowledge of life as a public company CFO.”
In a statement, Windsor said: “I am delighted to be joining abrdn, which is pursuing an exciting customer-centric strategy. The financial services sector is undergoing monumental changes with consumers having to take more responsibility for their own finances, there is a huge advice gap, and the asset management industry is in transformation.”
