AIFMD reforms delayed

by Matthias Plötz 3 July 2023

With the cancellation of a trilogue on 26 June 2023, the Council of the European Union will not reach an agreement on AIFMD reforms before the end of the Swedish presidency, which will come to term on 30 June 2023.

Key provisions for the PE industry concern delegation and, in particular, changes pertaining to the governance of loan-origination funds.

This delay will additionally further push back the effective date of the reforms’ final version.
