Alpha Group launches fund finance arm
Alpha Group has launched a fund finance division, offering solutions for capital call, NAV and GP co-investment facilities.
The team will be based at Alpha’s alternative banking headquarters in Paddington, London, and led by Adam Heaysman.
Heaysman joins Alpha with more than 25 years of experience in PE and fund finance. Previously fund finance director at Raiffeisen Bank International for eight years, he was responsible for business development and relationship management.
He will work alongside Sam Marsh, managing director at Alpha, to lead the fund finance division.
The service provider aims to improve the fund finance process by helping borrowers to access and manage their loans. Alpha will use its technology to match borrowers with lenders, collaborate in fund structuring and facilitate the execution of finance options.
The group hopes to use its existing client base of more than 800 fund managers to create a marketplace for borrowers and lenders to access and arrange fund finance.
Alpha also aims to offer a streamlined administration service to quicken the structuring, underwriting, legal and onboarding processes, typically an arduous process for asset managers.
Marsh recently spoke to The Drawdown on how NAV facilities are in his eyes already “the norm” for managers looking to increase liquidity in their funds.
