Apex acquires Maitland

Apex Group has acquired the fund services and third-party ManCo business operations of Maitland International.

The acquisition follows the sale of Maitland’s private and corporate services businesses to multi-family office Stonehage Fleming in July 2021. Additionally, the acquisition adds $200bn of assets under administration and $17bn of assets under management to Apex.

Founded in 1976, Maitland provides fund administration, transfer agency and ManCo services to traditional, alternative (private equity, infrastructure and hedge funds) and mutual funds.

As part of the deal, Maitland’s 475 employees have joined Apex, further expanding its presence in the UK, Guernsey, Luxembourg and South Africa.
