Aztec Group appoints CEO
Aztec Group’s current group chair Kathryn Purves is set to assume the role of CEO of Aztec Group, as founder and current CEO Edward Moore becomes chair of the group board.
The moves will come into effect on 1 April 2023.
Purves joined the group in 2020 as a non-executive director and was subsequently appointed as chair in April 2022. She has previously held several executive and non-executive positions in financial services, particularly in growth businesses, capital markets, corporate governance, and risk and compliance.
Moore will pursue an active role with the rest of the board, while maintaining his existing role as CEO of Aztec’s data-platform subsidiary business, Lantern Limited.
He said in a statement: “After 22 years as Aztec’s CEO, this is the right time for me to move into a new role within the group. Kathryn’s operational skills and experience make her perfectly placed to have a more hands-on role. During her three years with Aztec, Kathryn has come to know our people, how we work and our culture incredibly well, and is as passionate as I am about the future of this company. This role shift is very much a natural evolution and I can’t wait to see the business go from strength to strength with Kathryn at the helm.”
Purves added: “Since joining Aztec’s board, I have seen first-hand the strong leadership and growth that Edward has spearheaded, having built a business that sets itself apart not just for its ambition and success in delivering an exceptional client experience, but also in how it cares for its people.”
The appointment follows changes Aztec made to its board in November last year in appointing Eric Bernstein as New York-based non-executive director.
