Barclays’ Stecher joins Blackstone as CTO

Blackstone has hired John Stecher as the firm’s new chief technology officer. He succeeds Bill Murphy who has led the firm’s tech platform for the past eight years.

Reporting to CFO Michael Chae, Stecher will lead Blackstone’s global tech organisation and help advise the firm’s investment teams and portfolio companies on tech-related issues.

He joins from Barclays, where he was group CTO and group CIO.
