Burges Salmon hires funds and financial regulations director

Law firm Burges Salmon has appointed Jennifer Mellor as a director in its fund and financial regulations team.

Mellor, who will be based in the firm’s Edinburgh office, started her new position on 5 June 2023. She joins from Scottish law firm Brodies, where she was a senior associate in its funds and investment team.

Mellor has experience advising a range of financial institutions including asset managers, investment funds, pension schemes and family offices on fund-related issues and wider regulatory matters, including AIFMD, MiFID and SMCR.

Before joining Brodies in 2019, Mellor worked in-house as head of legal for Alliance Trust Savings.
