Clifford’s Kerbusch joins Dechert
Dechert has appointed Matthias Kerbusch as a partner, based in Luxembourg.
Kerbusch joins the firm after 10 years at Clifford Chance, where he served for the last year and a half as a counsel, a role he stepped into after spending two years as a senior associate. He initially joined Clifford Chance in 2012 as an associate in the investment fund department.
“We are thrilled to welcome Matthias. His addition to our Luxembourg-based team will further strengthen our global ability to support our investment management clients,” managing partner Marc Seimetz said in a statement.
In his practice, Kerbusch counsels clients on the formation and restructuring of Luxembourg-based funds. He focuses particularly on domiciled open and closed-ended alternative investment funds, including SIFs and SICARs as well as Part II funds for regulated, and RAIFs and other AIF structures for unregulated vehicles.
Kerbusch commented: “Dechert’s global platform and the sophistication of its asset management clients were significant factors in my decision to join the firm. Dechert’s presence across all the European investment management centres - Dublin, Frankfurt, London, Luxembourg and Paris - is very attractive to clients and I am excited to leverage these resources to further strengthen Dechert’s presence and capabilities in the region.”
