CMA publishes Green Agreements Guidance
On 12 October, the Competitions and Markets Authority (CMA) published the Green Agreements Guidance to help companies navigate climate objectives in line with UK competition law.
It originally consulted on the draft guidance between February and April 2023. During this period, it was speculated that the CMA’s stance would be flexible, to try and avoid any legal obstructions to certain green initiatives, where possible.
The published guidance is of particular importance for PE firms regarding shareholders promoting environmental sustainability corporate policies.
