Consort1 opens up repo market to GPs

by Silvia Saccardi 14 June 2023

Secured deposit service provider and fintech Consort1 has collaborated with Clearstream, Standard Chartered Bank, Natwest, Alpha Group and BankClarity to provide banks and GPs with an opportunity to access the wholesale repurchase agreement (repo) and securities lending market.

Consort1 acts as a conduit facilitator and regulated nominee for GPs looking to access the repo market.

Banks using Consort1’s services are able to securitise cash deposits for longer-term funding, while GPs that deposit cash into those banks can benefit from potentially better interest rates and security.
