Context Analytics launches CAPE

by Silvia Saccardi 6 September 2023

US fintech company Context Analytics has launched Context Analytics Pitchdeck Extractor (CAPE) for the PE and VC industry.

The software application automatically extracts data from various sources into a streamlined and queryable data series.

The automated process aims to reduce the need for manual data extraction and file uploads.

Context Analytics was founded in 2011, originally known as Social Market Analytics. It services the finance industry to improve the processing of unstructured financial data.

Joe Gits, CEO of Context Analytics, explained the operational significance of the launch to The Drawdown: “CAPE solves the problem of converting disparate Excel files and PowerPoints into a usable dataset. Up to this point, VC and PE firms would receive decks in unique formats from each firm. These files aren’t consistent over time or across firms making it difficult for quantitative analysis. We normalise this data across firms and time, allowing the firms to spend their time analysing data rather than formatting it.”
