ESMA outlines plans for fund fees and expenses

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published guidance for National Competent Authorities (NCAs) regarding fees charged by UCITS and AIF funds.

The supervisory briefing responds to calls to improve convergence across NCAs in their approach to managing undue costs.

Who is the guidance for?

The guidance is applicable to the following:

  • National regulators supervising UCITS and AIFs
  • Fund managers of UCITS and AIFs

It also provides relevant investment and asset managers with the NCAs’ expectations and compliance practices regarding cost-related provisions.
