EU delays SFDR, again

by Krystal Scanlon 30 November 2021

The European Commission has delayed the second phase of application of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) by a further six months, to 1 January 2023.

This further delay follows the Commission’s previous postponement of SFDR’s second phase of application, (originally delayed from 1 January 2022 to 1 July 2022), which was announced in July.

The announcement also follows delays in the adoption of the regulatory technical standards for Taxonomy-related disclosures for Article 8 and 9 SFDR products, of which the final report was published on 22 October.
