EU introduces new ESG regulation

by Krystal Scanlon 16 December 2019

The Official Journal of the EU has published the Regulation (EU) 2019/2088, a new ESG-related regulation.

It comes off the back of demands from investors for harmonised rules to enable comparisons of financial products across different EU Member States with respect to their sustainable investment objectives.

The aim is to reduce asymmetries surrounding sustainability and requires investment managers to make pre-contractual and ongoing disclosures to their investors.
