European Parliament rejects ESRS objection

by Silvia Saccardi 20 October 2023

The ESRS objection has been rejected by the European Parliament, with 261 votes in favour, 359 against and 11 abstentions.

Once the Delegated Directive has been published in the EU’s Official Journal, Member States will be required to reflect this under national law.

The first round of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is expected to come into force on 1 January 2024 for all companies with listed securities on the EU regulated market.
