by Matthias Plötz 16 September 2022

H.I.G. Capital has appointed Kim Leinwand Erle as managing director and the firm’s first global head of ESG, based in New York.

Erle joins H.I.G. from NY Green Bank, where she spent the last three years as managing director and head of strategy, overseeing ESG business strategy formulation and execution. Prior to this, she served as managing partner of Sunset Green Home for four years where she was responsible for advising on sustainable finance and strategy.

Her new role will see Erle focus on integrating ESG best practices with the aim of driving measurable long-term value for H.I.G. and its investors.

Co-president of H.I.G. Rick Rosen commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Kim to the team. Her expertise in sustainability will enhance the firm’s ESG focus across the firm and our portfolio companies, allowing H.I.G. to make a positive impact while creating long-term value for our stakeholders.”

“H.I.G.’s establishment of a standalone ESG function is an important milestone for the firm,” added Jordan Peer Griffin, executive managing director. “Kim brings a wealth of experience to H.I.G. and we are excited for her to lead this important function.”

“I am delighted to join the H.I.G. team and help the firm further drive measurable value for its investors through ESG-related initiatives,” said Erle.
