iCapital makes new hires and tech team acquisition

iCapital Network has expanded into Europe and Asia via senior appointments and an acquisition.

Marco Bizzozero has been appointed to the newly created role of head of international. He is also a member of the executive committee. Based in Zurich, he will lead iCapital’s growth efforts across the European and Asian markets and report to Lawrence Calcano, CEO and chair of the firm.

Tom Slocock has been named managing director and head of international product development & origination. Based in London, he is responsible for the development and launch of new investment products. He will also manage the life cycle of existing offerings and report to Bizzozero.

Earlier this month iCapital acquired a 65-person tech team from Portugal-based product development firm Runtime Group. The team has provided iCapital with tech support since 2014. As part of the deal, the 65 employees will join iCapital’s existing team of engineers, developers and designers, dedicated to the firm’s tech innovations.
