Inside the fundraising machine: The IR skill set

As the fundraising market picks up pace, how is the IR skill set evolving to make sure firms stay ahead of competitors? IR teams have been broadening their skill sets and individual members require far more specialisms than ever before. Sasha Jensen, founder of recruitment firm Context Jensen, says: “IRs need to be subject experts. The professionals are much more niche, with a deep knowledge of product which is a value add from an IR and LP relationship perspective.” Managing director of recruitment firm Stephenson James, Tom Quinnen, agrees.
