Investcorp creates D&I champion role
Investcorp has appointed head of HR Gulf and Asia, Jordana Semaan, to the newly created Diversity & Inclusion Champion role.
Semaan has been with Investcorp since September 2019, following a number of HR roles in companies including APM Terminals, Panalpina and Hyder Consulting.
In her new role, she acts as the diversity representative at the human resources council as well as actively promoting all aspects of equality and diversity across the global business. Semaan reports directly to executive chair Mohammed Alardhi.
In a statement, Alardhi said, “At Investcorp, we believe that having a diverse mix of skills, perspectives, backgrounds and expertise are key drivers of our success, which is why they are embedded into our daily operations. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, which not only makes us better investors but also reinforces our unique culture and talent as key competitive advantages. To us, diversity & inclusion is a journey and we are focused on strengthening our practices across all levels of our organisation.”
As part of its dedication to D&I, Investcorp has partnered with the GCC chapter of the 30s Club, CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, Level 20 and 100 Women in Finance.
The firm has also implemented a new talent acquisition process, in which a minimum of 50% of diverse candidates are required for all open positions, mandatory D&I training and development for all employees as well as enhanced policies.
