IPEV publishes updated guidelines
The International Private Equity Valuation (IPEV) board has published its latest guidelines for 2022.
The updates to the guidelines take on board developments to international standards. It also incorporates the 2020 and 2022 special issues which reflected on Covid and the war in Ukraine, respectively. Further advice is given on the concept and impact on valuations on distressed markets.
Paul Cunningham, chair of the IPEV board, said: “The board has also considered how to address the ever-expanding issue of ESG and how it may impact valuations.” He concluded: “We have, with this update of the guidance, moved as far forward as we find reasonable at this time, given that the guidance cannot be overly prescriptive, but must remain based on principles of what is known and knowable”.
