IPEV reiterates special guidance ahead of year end

by Alice Murray 15 December 2020

The International Private Equity & Venture Capital Valuation (IPEV) board has reiterated the special guidance it released back in March regarding estimating fair value, as year end approaches.

The board stressed the importance of rigorously reporting underlying investments at fair value, reminding managers that LPs need “timely, relevant and reliable information with respect to the fair value, performance and financial condition of underlying investments” in order to make asset allocation decisions, allow beneficiaries to make decisions and to uphold their own fiduciary duties.
