Montagu welcomes GC

by Matthias Plötz 28 February 2023

Montagu has appointed Alexandra Openshaw as the firm’s general counsel, based in London.

Previously at Winton Capital, Openshaw worked as the firm’s deputy general counsel for seven years, overseeing corporate matters and fund-related issues. She made the move in-house in 2016 after five years as an associate in the investment management team at Macfarlanes where she acted for GPs and investors, predominantly in the PE space.

Her new role at Montagu will see her build up the firm’s legal operations, focusing on corporate and fund structures, managing its company secretarial function and collaborating with the regulatory and compliance teams.
