NorthEdge names COO and head of ESG
NorthEdge has promoted partner & CFO Prem Mohan Raj to COO and hired Kathy Hobbs as the firm’s head of ESG.
The GP confirmed to The Drawdown this is the first COO role at the firm, as well it’s first dedicated role for ESG.
Mohan Raj joined the firm in 2016 as CFO and has since been responsible for the finance and tax related issues of the management company and its private equity funds. He had previously held the same position at LivingBridge and Brockton Capital, having spent time as financial controller at Coller Capital.
In his new role, Mohan Raj takes on increased responsibility for investor relations and fundraising alongside his responsibilities for finance, operations and marketing.

Hobbs joins NorthEdge having recently completed her MBA at Alliance Manchester Business School and a short stint at former financial services company Greensill Capital.
She previously worked at PwC as a senior assurance associate where she led audit controls testing for a large multinational telecommunications company. She also worked at Thomas Cook Airlines as risk, control and FX accountant, and The Peel Group as group reporting accountant.
In her new role, Hobbs is responsible for strengthening ESG initiatives across the firm and embedding key initiatives across the portfolio. This includes anything from conducting ESG-related due diligence on potential investments to supporting portfolio businesses embed ESG as a core value creation pillar.
