PRI launches human rights initiative

PRI has launched “Advance”, an initiative on social issues and human rights, which was initially joined by 220 investors with a combined $30trn AuM.

A first step should see the initiative engage with 40 focus companies across the mining & minerals and renewables sectors to steward their efforts. These companies will be supported by 120 investors involved in Advance and PRI has made a corresponding list available.

Additionally, investors assisting the focus companies have agreed to develop their own human rights policy and due diligence process within one year from joining the initiative.

PRI further aims to convene investors and other stakeholders to ensure direct engagement and plans to collaborate with other initiatives.
