RedeWire portal to tackle restrictive marketing rules
Rede Partners has launched a digital interactive LP portal that enables institutional investors to view current fundraising offerings.
The platform has been built with regulatory requirements in mind, as European marketing rules have become increasingly challenging to navigate, following implementation of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive in Europe.
For example, LPs are prompted to choose which country they are based in upon activating their RedeWire account. Gabrielle Joseph, head of due diligence and client development at Rede Partners, explains: “We can then dynamically change the offering that is visible to each LP, based on what country they are sitting in. We know that LPs sitting in certain countries will not have access to fundraise information in restricted countries. What we can do is show them some brand information about the GP instead, rather than fund information.”
That means an LP can proactively ask for more information about a fund by contacting the team on the platform, should they want to know more.
In addition, the portal complies with private placement rules, which prevent general solicitation. This is done by ensuring the platform is accessible by invitation only to a whitelisted group of LPs. There is the added security of two-factor authentication and the platform can be monitored for any unusual activity, which means access can be revoked if necessary.
In an environment where it is harder than ever to maintain an LP’s attention to a fund, RedeWire offers a streamlined visual solution for investors to make fund information more accessible.
Other features include filtering the funds by asset class, geography and target fund size; scoring fund preferences on a scale from ‘core interest’ to ‘not relevant’; and the ability to favourite a fund, download the information in PDF format, email the Rede team for more information and watch videos about the fund manager.
