Room for improvement
According to Equality Group’s Honordex index, the majority (65%) of private equity and venture capital firms have fallen behind on industry social sustainability standards when it comes to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI). However, it also highlights a positive upwards trend and guidance on where the biggest improvements can be made.
The 301 PE and VC firms evaluated by Equality Group were classified in four categories:
- Leader: Demonstrated a clear commitment to EDI and scored highly across all six categories
- Leveller: Demonstrated commitment to EDI and scored well across all six categories, with room for improvement
- Learner: Demonstrated some commitment to EDI but is operating at an unsustainable rate according to social sustainability standards
- Laggard: Firm has significantly fallen behind industry social sustainability standards.
