Sidley Austin’s Chapman joins Macfarlanes

Macfarlanes has appointed Peter Chapman as a partner in its investment management group.

Chapman joins after 11 years at Sidley Austin, most recently as senior associate in the investment funds team.

In his previous role, Chapman advised on PE fund structuring, management arrangements and carried interest schemes for UK and multijurisdictional clients. He also gained experience advising on GP stakes and joint ventures.

As partner at Macfarlanes, Chapman will advise on fund formation and management structuring for private equity, private credit, venture capital, growth capital and hedge funds.

He can also advise LPs on private fund allocations, co-investments and LP portfolio sales.

Macfarlanes previously appointed Stephen Ross as a partner in its investment funds practice in January 2023.
