Standish expands to UK
Fund administrator Standish Management has expanded to the UK, having received authorisation from the FCA.
The new London office, which provides UK administration and depositary services to clients via its team of 12 PE specialists, is headed up by Mark Coppin, who has been appointed director of Standish Management (UK).
Coppin joined the firm in August 2020, having spent 18 months as operations director at Apex. Prior to this, he held the same role at Ipes for nearly five years. Before this, he spent four years as head of private equity at Langham Hall, three years as director of portfolio servicing at Capital Dynamics and seven-and-a-half years as fund executive at 3i.
“I am delighted to join Standish Management to lead the development of their UK practice,” commented Coppin. “We have built a high-quality team of experienced people and are open for business. Standish has an excellent focus on providing outstanding service to clients in the US and the entire UK team is excited to bring that culture to the UK.”
Founded in the US in 2007, Standish Management is an employee-owned provider of specialised fund administration services to private equity, venture capital, real estate and fund-of-funds. The firm currently has more than $135bn in committed capital under administration, services more than 2,800 entities and reports to more than 33,000 LPs. Headquartered in San Francisco, Standish has additional offices in Los Angeles, Palo Alto, Boston, Seattle, Dallas, Denver, Chicago, New York and Luxembourg.
This expansion follows the firm’s partnership with Redwood Valuation in February, to offer critical portfolio valuations in real-time. Additionally in July 2020, Standish partnered with AST Private Company Solutions to incorporate its Astrella tech platform, to manage private company ownership data.
