A defining moment

In the last year, Ireland’s efforts to transform itself into a domicile of choice for private markets managers has been under the microscope with the introduction of the reformed Irish investment limited partnership (ILP) structure.

When the Irish regime for partnerships was redesigned in early 2021, many hoped that it would act as an inflexion point for the jurisdiction, boosting its appeal with managers employing private equity, venture capital and real estate strategies seeking to onshore their funds in continental Europe.
