TDA 2022 Advisory/Consultancy: Fundraising winner: Asante Capital Group

by Alice Murray 9 August 2022

Asante impressed the judges by a year of strong growth coupled with a reputation for innovation. In particular, the placement agent’s expansion into areas including secondaries and bridging facilities were noted by the judges as ambitious, but Asante was also praised for keeping their core fundraising business at the forefront of what it does.

According to Asante, one of its key differentiators has been its aligned approach with GP partners – both in terms of how each of its team members are aligned  economically to a successful fund close at target/hard-cap, but also as each of its team members are LPs in Asante’s own funds.

Says Asante, “When calling an LP on any Asante offering, our broader network understands that we are behind each project not only in terms of belief, passion, drive and ambition, but also financially have a vested interest in their success. For the market to know this is game-changing, along with our Fused+ operating model, we believe our offering is differentiated from our competitors in terms of the way we invest manpower and mindshare through executing this model, and the way we commit financially to demonstrate our belief in our clients.”

Asante views these partnerships as perpetual, having partnered with most of its GPs for more than one fund, helping to scale their AuM across fundraising cycles and strategies, advising on product extensions, capital solutions and overall strengthening of their franchises to go out and do what they do best, which is invest capital of behalf of stakeholders and drive outsized returns.
