The increasingly public world of private equity

Think public markets and private equity and several scenarios will likely spring to mind. There are the listed behemoths of KKR, Carlyle, Blackstone and Apollo. And their high-growth European counterparts such as EQT, ICG and Eurazeo. Then there’s the more ‘everyday’ interaction between public and private, with the IPOs of portfolio companies, or the recent resurgence in take-private deals.
