US lags Europe and APAC on ESG
A new study has found that North American private equity firms lag behind their European and APAC counterparts when it comes to ESG engagement.
The survey, conducted by Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI), found that GPs in North America had a poorer ESG rating overall than firms in Europe and APAC.
ASI rated private equity firms based on their responses to the following definitions:
- Green: GP has a clear process in place to monitor the criteria and it is implemented across the majority of its underlying portfolio companies
- Amber: GP considers the criteria to some degree (or has plans to do so), however, it is not yet fully measured or implemented in respect to the majority of portfolio companies; ...
