US law firms carve out London practices

In recent months, there has been significant movement at the partner level of well-known London-based law firms as US competitors build out their practices, particularly around fund restructurings and secondaries.

The US firms are anticipating an uptake in GP-led transactions, driven by a tighter fundraising market, the denominator effect and subsequent increased demand for liquidity solutions.

Goodwin Procter recently hired Jacqueline Eaves from Kirkland and Ellis.
