Balderton creates head of impact and SFGs role
Balderton has appointed Elodie Broad as the firm’s first head of impact and sustainable future goals (SFGs).
She joins from Deloitte where she spent the last two years, most recently as senior manager for ESG strategy and sustainable finance. In this role, she oversaw ESG strategies and regulatory compliance in investment management, focusing on private equity. She previously joined the firm as a climate change strategy consultant, having spent five years at business consultancy Monitor Deloitte.
At Balderton, she is responsible for the firm’s SFGs, sharing best practices with portfolio companies, monitoring regulatory changes as well as market and technology developments.
“We’ve been impressed by Elodie’s work exploring the role of financial systems in enabling incentivising and accelerating the transition to a more sustainable economic model,” said Bernard Liautaud, managing partner at Balderton. “With Elodie at the helm, we’re looking forward to continually improving and delivering on our sustainable future goals, and sharing everything we learn with our portfolio companies.”
SFGs
Balderton first introduced its SFGs in its 2021 SFG Report. Modelled on the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs), the framework is used to measure against internal operations, investment decision making and Balderton’s portfolio.
