Column: You are what you eat

A healthy brain means good memory, sustained energy, calm focus, rejuvenative sleep, and greater overall resilience, much of which can be achieved through food and nootropics (compounds that improve cognition). Brain-foods are everyday foods generally high in antioxidants, polyphenols, unsaturated fats, and amino acids, and have been scientifically shown to improve cognitive function. What we consume greatly influences cell regeneration and must contain the right molecules to build brain-signalling hormones or ‘neurotransmitters’.
