Earlier this month, Efama convened its annual Investment Management Forum in Brussels, which brought together European asset managers and their regulators for two days of dialogue.

Against the backdrop of an economy marked by higher volatility, lower GDP growth and structurally higher inflation, Efama’s president, Sandro Pierri, highlighted the role of asset managers as “transition mechanisms of capital allocation”.

Particularly in financing the bloc’s sustainability efforts, asset managers have a critical role to play, added Marcel Haag, director for horizontal policies at DG FISMA of the European Commission.
