Addleshaw’s Powling joins DLA Piper
Addleshaw Goddard partner Jonathan Powling has joined DLA Piper as a partner in the firm’s corporate practice, based in London.
Powling practices across various sectors with a particular focus on private equity and real estate. Throughout his career to date, he has advised managers and investors on private fund matters including fund establishment, fund structuring, primary and secondary fund investments, co-investments, as well as secondary sales and purchases.
Powling worked at Addleshaw Goddard for the last 10 years, having initially joined the firm as an associate in 2011. He was promoted to managing associate in 2013, and again in 2016 to partner. Prior to this, Powling spent five years at Linklaters, where he had started his career as a trainee solicitor in 2006. He was then promoted to associate within two years.
“Jonny's appointment demonstrates our commitment to continue to invest in our London funds practice,” said Bob Bishop, global co-chair of DLA Piper’s corporate group. “His industry focus complements our firm's strategic priorities and his arrival will add strength to our existing investment management and funds capabilities and enhance our market position.”
