Triton appoints new CFO
Triton Partners has appointed Matthew Couch as chief financial officer.
He takes over from Mats Eklund who was previously CFO/COO at the firm, and left in March after nine years of service. According to his LinkedIn profile, Eklund has since taken on senior advisor roles at NREP and Sprints Capital.
Beata Gawarecka-Green, previously head of human resources, now serves as Triton’s COO.
Couch joins from the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) where he spent the last 11 years. He initially joined the group in a lead corporate finance role, and rose through the ranks to his most recently CFO position of the group’s post trade division, which comprises its clearing houses and regulatory reporting businesses. Prior to this, he was CFO of LSEG’s post trade business, LCH, prior to its acquisition by LSEG, as well as a senior manager at KPMG.
In his new role, Couch reports to Triton’s CEO and managing partner Peder Prahl, and joins the firm’s senior leadership team. He is responsible for the core finance function, as well as tax, legal, compliance and portfolio monitoring.
“Previously, the CFO role had been included in other responsibilities, but these are now covered in more detail by the COO and head of West Park, allowing Matthew to focus primarily on the role of CFO,” a source close to the situation confirmed to The Drawdown.
West Park Management Services provides strategic, operational, commercial, financing and structuring services for Triton’s portfolio companies.
